You are not allowed to take the things with you that you pick up from the Spawn Island - As soon as you reach the Spawn Island, you are going to see ammo, guns and numerous building materials thrown all around. They are there because they are waiting to be grabbed. You can grab them as per your need but they would not come with you to the Fortnite map. It is advisable to treat the Spawn Island as the practice area. You will be there for a minute until 100 players fills up the spot but you can practice on how to play the game.

 

Wait for a longer duration before dropping from the battle bus - The Battle Bus would start honking the moment you can drop from it onto the below map. However, you should resist your urge to join the crowd of players who would make a move from the Battle Bus as soon as possible. When there is just 3 seconds left before the Bus to reach the end of its flight path, leap. You will get very little or no players to compete with for the landing spots. This signifies that there will be less chances of getting gunned in the face.

 

Opt for drinking the small shield potions before grabbing the large ones - Throughout the map, you will find both small and big blue colored bottles, which would give you 25 and 50 shields respectively. The right trigger, which is used to fire gun is the one used to drink them. Once you drink the big bottle of 50 shields, you wouldn’t be able to gulp in small bottles. Therefore, make sure you binge on the small bottles first.
